Las Vegas MX-3 Meet!!!!!!!

Post by VizualXTC »

Me and a few others are trying to put together a meet for the western USA folks probably early or mid 2004. I'm not trying to exclude anyone so mid USA, easterners, and Canadians feel free to come on down. In fact if you can bring your car that would be extra kewl. I just rarely see meets that are close enuff for me to go to, so I figure I'll set one up for myself. :) It's not going to be anything REAL special. I'd like it to basically be a weekend of cars, gambling, and hanging out. I know a lot of you aren't 21 and can't gamble, but I also know a lot of you are. So I figured Vegas would be the best place to hold this. Even if you don't bring your car, you can still have fun.
Events will include: (if we can find a place to do this)
Burnout contest.
Drag Races.
Parking Lot Car Show.
Sterio.
Decal and Paint art.
and other fun events.
If you have an event you'd like to add, please email either me, Shawn (Lazzyie), or Jarid (CJThor) and we'll decide if it will be added.
The people who organized the meet will be the judges on the cars.
I guess if popularity is good, we can hand out framed certificates to the winners of the events signed by the orginizers of the meet. I'd also like to get a large poster and have everyone that competes or views the meet to sign. If this option is popular I will ask for pictures of cars to design the poster with. (please let me knoe with your confirmation whether you would be willing to donate to this. Fee's will be minimal, we're not trying to make any money)
If you want, we could charge a fee to enter into the certain events, and if we get enough entries we could possibly purchase plaques/tropheys for the winners, and possibly the remainder of the entry money as a cash prize for the top spots.
Also, I would also like to film the different cars that compete and make a small movie so that we have something to watch. If I do this I will need original artwork for the CD case, as well as the CD itself.
If you would like to join us, I'd like comfirmation by either email or post. Until we decide a definate date, please reply by post.
Thank you in advance for all that will participate. If there are any questions please email me or IM me and I will be happy to talk to you about it. If you have more ideas as to what we could do, please let me know.
[ January 24, 2003: Message edited by: VizualXTC ]

If any San Diego-Los Angeles-So Cal people want to go I will organize a meet and drive from somewhere between these two cities or we can pick up others on the way. Let me know.

I am definitely in....Lets get something going FOR REAL, not just talk...I want a chance to meet all of the people that i read about on the board...and unfortunately there is not a strong mx-3 presence here in the southwest so i dont get much of a chance to meet anyone... But 2004?? Come on man it wont be that much planning...lets make it this summer..??? And with that paying for different events and stuff...thats bogus, lets just go and have fun...just my opionion...let me know what you all think..

Wow is it dead already?? There has to be some interest in this...maybe we should put flyers out about mx-3.com(with permission of course)..Ive seen a few ricey mx-3's around here but i dont think they know about mx-3.com since i havent seen any other tucson guys on here. Maybe this is the case with the rest of the west/southwest...

Same here, I've only seen one with a full bodykit and rims about three years ago. All the other ones are stock or lowered. Anyone with rims on their MX is considered fixed up here.

Wow, I was expecting a little more interest than this. The reason we opted for 2004 is because we have a few things going on that require our attention. Plus, finances force us to put it off that long. Especially since the event entry fee's are "bogus" then it may take even longer. If we want all the events, then we will most likely have to rent the local drag strip. I don't want any of us getting fined because of racing ya know. Most likely the certificates will work, but unless we get donations from the participants we won't be able to have trophey's made. Let's hear some more opinions on other aspects of the meet. ANY info it appreciated.

we dont need trophys..we dont need entry fees..that is kinda lame...lets just get together, hang out somewhere, and go to the track at night and race all of those hondas!

well, that's not really what we had in mind. If we don't get more people interested we just may do that...if we do anything at all

Ouch, I got 4 people that are interested? I thought for sure this would be big since all the MX-3 meets are back east. Plus the fact it's in Sin City should have brought in a few more people. Well, looks like this is quickly going into the trash bin. Oh well. Too bad. I was really excited about this.
