fuel mileage
I have a base model 93 mx3. it is only getting about 200 miles per tank of gas. is that good or should it be better? if so, then what should i do to make it get more miles per tank? I have recently changed the spark plugs and wires!
Re: fuel mileage
that is bad, my sister's RS gets over 300 miles on a tank it is 5-speed. My old RS auto, since sold, used to get 250-280 miles on a tank and I used to ride it hard. have the throttlebody cleaned and also the fuel injectors that should increase milage. ![Rolling Eyes ](./images/smilies/icon_rolleyes.gif)

Re: fuel mileage
replace your air and fuel filter and clean your injectors. that should help some.
Fast imports only come on two wheels.

Re: fuel mileage
maybe your needle for the fuel gauge is inaccurate...does the gas light come on? Or is it just close to E? Try this...fill your tank....reset your trip odometer....then next time u fill, divide the number of miles by the number of gallons you put in....
For example...if you went 200 miles and put in 10 gallons, you're getting approx 20 miles/gallon

Re: fuel mileage
i'm in the process of figuring this out also(running down my tank). i filled the tank, but the tank is 11.3gallons. so run it down to e, then fill up. see how many gallons you put in and subtract that number from 11.3. then you can divide the miles by the gallons. that sohuld be trhe most exact way.
Looking for a 94+GS for KL-ZE fun

The nearest car was the 323.
Full tank is giving me about 550kms.. I didn't calculate in Miles how does that do.
[ February 05, 2002: Message edited by: Manach ]

Re: fuel mileage
Deathtrap, I dont see why you need to substract from 11.3gallons ???
The amount I gas I will put it is the amount of gas I used supposing the tank was full when I reset the trip odometer.
If I have 20 gallong tank and added 5 gallons and done 200 miles then thats 40 miles/gallong. If I have 15 gallong tank and added 5 gallons and done 200 miles, still 40 miles/gallon....

Re: fuel mileage
i know this post is kinda old but i recently put in 8mm(8.5 cant remeber) in my sohc and upgraded the plug to platium 1's(about 2 months ago) i started to notice that the car at about 1/2 tank get about 80-100 miles from a fill up!
it used to get what every1 else says about 250+(at almost empty) b4 a fill-up! could the bigger wires and better plugs decrease the mpg?
