DOT-3 or DOT-4 brake fluid

Who has upgraded their brake fluid to DOT-4 specs ?<BR>I need to buy brake fluid and am wondering if it is ok to do the upgrade when I work on the brake system this weekend.<P>Thanx

I believe it's the other way around, dot-5 is synthetic and can't be used.

You can use dot 4 but you will never ever see any difference unless your going to be running some kind of road course racing. If you not going to be doing that then I wouldn't worry about it. Only difference between dot 3 and 4 is a slightly higher boiling point.<P>Good luck
