9.5:1 Pistons do they exist?

Post by Jforce »

So supposedly the newer casts KLZE's are lower compersion.

Is there actually any proof that these 9.5:1 pistons exist? I've never seen any pics of them.

Does anyone know what there suppose to look like?

I've got a newer casting KL, looked in the combustion chamber. There not DE Pistons, but I dunno how to see the difference between the supposed 9.5:1 and 10:1.

These are the best pics i have:

edit: this is supposed to be a KLG4 9.5:1 piston:

So heres a question...is the ZE higher rated HP due to the higher compression only...if its not and from my understanding is basically a DE anyways can you just use the lower compression pistons from the DE if you want to run boost?

Well no, cause the cams, intake, ecu also matter.

And a DE is 9.2:1 Compression.

KLG4 is a 170hp engine and is basically a DE.

But what is an an J-Spec engine like this called, its not a DE but neither a ZE.

Supposed to be:

9.5:1 pistons (or 10:1 ???)
Redesigned DE heads
KL-01 Cams
Redesigned oil pan

Only seen one dynod, made 190bhp. But still piston's unconfirmed.

I don't see it:

Also top and bottom are mirror imaged, where as the 10:1 pistons are not. My conclusion is this engine has 10:1.

Millenia KL + Japanese ECU/VAF combo = ~185-190 BHP

KL31 cams, KL31 heads, and the higher static CR make up a whopping 10-15 BHP combined. I would invest that money elsewhere, were I planning to buy a new engine.
