KLZE 7-Post Distributor Cap?

Post by RogueWolf »

Does anyone have any contacts that could track down the 7-port Distributor Cap that is used for the KLZE with external coil?

Still trying to find that 7-Post Distributor cap...

Unless anyone knows how to wire an external coil straight through the old one?

You really don't need a 7 post cap, as you can modify your 6 post with an MSD power tower

The pictures don't work on that link, and I have yet to find any place that still sells the modified distributor caps.
The distributor cap is an off the shelf part in Australia, it would cost about the same as one here from Canadian Tire / Part Source... the b!#ch would be in the shipping and duty on it.
I just realised I have a friend living in Japan who might be able to hook me up, but if he can't, is there anyone around who happened to have bought their ZE and found an original disty cap on it?

Also, is there any difference in K-series distributors between the 1.8/2.0/2.5 engines?
Found this one on ebay and I'd happily pay this price.

I assume you tried the link at the top of page? Pics work for me. Anyways, I kick myself in the butt still for getting rid of my 7 post distributor that came on my straight neck ze as I would like to do the HEI mod in the near. I'm going to mod my cap like shown in the write up. As for k-series distributors, there are differences. What year is your car?
