SHOCKs /Struts for Mx3 with -25mm lowering spring

Post by alexlotta »

Hallo guys , i think my shocks are gone ( or close to) .
I know mine has -25mm springs fitted by previous owner ,
but he did'nt recall what he mounted.
he mentioned maybe it was "koni" or "Kyb" for the springs (so maybe it was Koni for ammo) .

Cant find on the web shorter "shock" models , has anyone Tips / links ?
Thank you! (i'm based on Europe , but codes to find are helpful , really CANT find anything )

Ps:also i see the cracks which i 'll have to picture soon to ask about ,
seen from "above the coil" once i open the bonnet
(a term in english i dont remember now),
where you mount the strut bar to let you understand.-

Thank yyou in advance , have a nice new year you all
,Alex

i wrote ammo instead of shocks , stupid me 8italian slang which sounds "english" and i was tired).

I'm looking for good price links ,
Shock absorbers compatible with my -25 lowered springs .
Here prices are quite insane for that

(and mx-3 tends to be forgotten on links , though the model exist being compatible with other cars ).

http://www.togheishop.com/

He is my dealer. I paid about 300€. But i think there are cusco dealer nearer for you.
I had no other solutions.
I m waiting for delivery...
It s a pillow ball so no rubber which will suffer of weathers or change of form.
The reference : 415 410 A for mx3 only abailable for the front of the car.

My set up would have finally cost me more than D2 or zenky coilovers...

i saw the post now.
I have to take picture to verify and show..
Anyway my Shock absorbers are done for it seems .

*Plus i have a (little) problem on 2 gear but for now its minor
(as soon as i release acceleration pedal after gear change , i have a sort of trembling "pushing back" ,
gonna see late what it is).*
_____
Any link /tip for shock absorbers , so can look for prices?
They adviced me on Bilstein b8
(front Part-No.: 24-065504
Part-No. (old): BE5-6550

Rear Part-No.: 24-065511
Part-No. (old): BE5-6551 , ARE THESE CORRECT?????)
..freaking expensive , have to look for a good source .

So asking for alternatives /links , or link at good shops to find the b8 if you think they are worth for.

add: also there are shops who sells shocks for MX3/MX5 ..
that means that some mx.5 are compatible , from 98 /99 model/year i suppose ?
I think it would be easier to find on ebay and so on

Bilstein B8 can't fit with mazda mx-3 !

Parts you quote are for mazda MIATA (mx-5)

It's difficult to give you links available for you ! you have to search for local seller !

As I said I found KYB Excel G + Eibach pro kit, but KYB mounting kit (SM5305) are not suitable for lasting !

No more sure that mx5 an mx3 may be compatible on that point !!! :?:

However , it's not difficult to visit the manufacturer website and check application.

I have Kyb on mine , and are DONE for , with very poor mileage..bleah s---.
Yep , i found those codes in a german shop selling them for MX-3 too ,
but mprobably they are wrong !
(here http://www.tuningstudio.de/index.php/la ... anta.html/)

Thanks bro , you are french and you have your local dealers .
I found on local just normal shock , not "SHORTER shocks",and websites i did sure check but no info on mx-3 shorter shocks(compatible woth lower springs)

just i did hope some us or canadian would chime in ,
to give me codes or links for shorter shocks compatible with lower springs ,
really lost here .

found that page that says
http://www.feoa.net/threads/suspension- ... uide.8792/

"Struts-
All MX3, Protege, 323, ZX2, and Escort struts will fit one another, but the ZX2 SR (and maybe all 3rd gens) use a larger diameter strut shaft. so you will need to use ZX2 thrust bearings (also known as strut bearings) if you want to use the ZX2 SR Tokicos. These are easiy modified into the MX3, Protege, 323 or 2nd gen Escorts upper hat. Please note that the ZX2 SR struts are .5" shorter in legnth."

Do you know if it's true?
Does that mean that maybe sometime more fitting shorter spring can be found?
