Hell, I couldn't even get it to 130hp.

The answer is, it's impossible. Not. Possible.

So I just read a portion of this thread again, and noticed one part that made me crack up.

the question was, "I wanna turbo my car" and a couple posts down is, "my car isn't stock, it's got forced induction"

and all of a sudden, Xzibit showed up and said, " yo dawg, I heard you like turbos, so we put a turbo in your turbo, so you can zoom, while you zoom, dawg!!"

you can get outsourced answers for pretty cheap. My roommate just outsourced half of his work to some guy in pakistan for like $5 an hour. I'm totally serious - I was like "you can do that?!"

mazdaspeed23 wrote:let me ask this.. do you think its possible to have a 1.6 dohc and have nothing to fancy done to it. no turbo or supercharger, after market computer, exhaust, ignition, fuel pump... nothing major do you think it can go from 130hp too 280hp?
Lol, WTF.

1) the 1.6L DOHC is 105hp, not 130
2) you would need EVERYTHING done MAJOR to get that kind of power. The 1.6's get bored out to almost 1.8 and make around 200hp, the BP's are making about 250 at the crank N/A

Here's a quote for you
My first motor was right at 150RWHP. You'll need higher comp. pistons (11:1), cams, solid lifters, larger injectors, some head porting, aftermarket ECU, light weight flywheel and clutch, headers, etc. Block was bored .040 over. It reved to 8,000 and sounded very sweet
Getting about 150whp from the B6 seems to cost about $5000 is parts and machine work, just to give you an idea.

I just re-read this entire thread.

Still without question my favorite thread of all time. I teared up a bit in the middle there.

Still these cars manage this:

PRM - 280 WHP N/A
FrankenProbe - 500+ WHP Boosted
Goldmember - 500 WHP Boosted

Just saying......impossible? no. Extremely costly and hard? Yes.

Other than that, it is ofcourse a complete waste of money to do this. Other than to be proud of what you have created.

There are way better and cheaper options for 500WHP than a fwd probe/mx-3/etc.

I'm happy for now with my 190ish hp ZE :) , running more than 240 Crank HP would make it very unhandable I think.

Hahaha, I know you deleted your comment BUT I AM NOT LETTING YOU GET AWAY WITH IT!

NA:
280HP/2.5L displacement = 112HP/L displacement = possible
280HP/1.6L displacement =175HP/L displacement = 437.5HP/2.5L displacement = not possible.

There is no perceived difference between impossible and "no one has ever done it nor ever will do it".

Hahha Dammit :x, after i've re-read my comment i thought hmm this doesn't add anything usefull.

But I was indeed talking about 2.5 and not 1.6, at page 1-5 there is some talk about the 2.5 not being able to have 280 N/A.

His statement:
moneyshot23 wrote:lol. its a KLZE 2.5L v6 right now its about 280hp @6500 210lb-ft torque@ 5500
I mean it's obvious that the guy itself knows little about cars, but that doesn't mean that his uncle does to. It is not impossible that his uncle managed 280HP.

He could a be like, ooh yeah gonna brag about my 280 hp!.............ow dammit i know nothing about cars, just the mistranslated stuff my uncle told me.

A long shot, but hey could be so.

Besides the dyno he provided is a dynojet, those dyno's a known here as generous, about 10 -15% more than a "real" dyno.

So that would make about 240 - 250 hp.
