Likely heads are warped? Caps all on in the right order? Cams warped?

i have the klde springs and retrainers on it
with some retrainers the clips cant go deeper in and they are a litle up.
but the hla rests on the stem.

my friend had a similar issue. it was because he pumped up his hla's with oil first. you may need to bleed them out a bit. this may not be your issue though.

2nd that ^
If the HLAs are full of oil you'll have a hard time compressing them.

I'm not sure what is going on with the retainers. Maybe post up some pictures. The valve stems should stick out the top of the spring the same amount on all of them.
