Intercooler piping (re)done! Couldn't stand the mess of accordion thing to one scrap to another and the mild steel on feed. Blah. All alu alloy now except the turbo outlet :)

Haha yea man only a few know what they are, and that's as mx3 nevermind autozam az3.

Yesterday I replaced:
Timing belt and pulleys and spring
Cam seals
Crank seal
Water pump
Also stripped and cleaned 8x intake hla

It was all a pleasure to replace! Very easy on this engine :)

It still didn't cure my HLA tick but that's because that turned out to be an exhaust gasket!

It's amazing working on a B5/B6/BP compared to the K series engines, absolute breeze. Nice work.

One thing I did is buy a B6T exhaust mani gasket. It is a 3 piece gasket with two N/A like gaskets around a thicker piece of metal. The B6T has a bit smaller ports than our DE motors do so I bought two N/A mani gaskets and used the center from the B6T gasket and just dremmiled it out a bit to match it. Don't know if it really made any difference but I am sure it helps with heat a little.

One thing I noticed with my DE is the intake mani and the VICS system. Have you had any boost issues with it?

I ended up just strapping the butterfly valve open with a ziptie and boost was a lot better, more consistent.

Cool video. That gauge pod is quite sweet also.
