It is a shame. The community gets smaller everyday. Although i myself am on the fence of parting out. :(

I came to a crossroad, and have to choose between a dubious future and a secure one.

At the end of the day, a car is just a car...

I know how it feels Blake to get to far into a project cause it can get depressing at times. I will more than likely buy another car someday soon myself like a Genesis Track or 370z, but will keep the 3 and maybe hand it to my son. Mazda did a superb job on this car and even this classic still stands out with the new sports cars of today, so for me at the end of the day an mx3 is an mx3 man (fun & nimble)... I wish you were closer cause I would take that bumper off your hands. :)

You know, there's still a lot I could do with my MX3 but in all honestly it starts every time I want it to, it runs great, no problems for the most part (fuel pump went 3 years ago) so why introduce a lot of potential issues for what. A tiny bit more HP, a smidgen of improved handling, a bigger amp to edge me closer to hearing loss and battery/alt issues. So I keep it as it is, a nice car to drive that doesn't cause me grief every other week.
Sad to see you go but in a way understandable. Only the most hardened of Mazda enthusiasts can stay the course no matter what. Maybe it's time you bought a Honda,,,or even a Kia. Cheers Sir.

I am planning to keep the car, but as Dan so eloquently phrased it, reliability trumps performance.

The poor girl is an alternator belt away from complete. After that, I'll be driving around enjoying manual steering and a few other changes I made in the 6 months she's been off the road...

Oh, how I have missed this car...

Awesome to hear, hope it's sooner then later.
Knowing you've spent too much on your car,
yet, you still want to keep modding. -priceless

Problem is he won't be happy just putting on a belt, he'll have to find some way to change it up maybe use a skidoo drive belt or something from the space shuttle and then it'll be another 6 months laid up. :P

Haha, woooow you guys!

I do appreciate the welcome(back) wagon being rolled out, and I'll have a few little updates coming up this summer. I'm planning to get a few things done, but nothing too drastic for a while now. I have other priorities that NEED to come first this time around...

Brandi encouraged me to stick around, and to take my projects a little slower to avoid burning out all over again. She was right, as are all of you, this car is hard to walk away from... So is this community. :)

The belt drive is all complete, but I was unable to get the car to turn over.

Fuel is there, but spark isn't... I re-checked all of the electrical, and charged the battery overnight. No luck on that front, so I jumped it using my Mountaineer, which by the way has an amazing alternator... 30 seconds cold cranking an MX-3 without so much as dimming an interior light.
