corksport shifter bushings / problems

Post by mx3_ryder »

Well I can't for the life of me figure out why my shifter linkage is hitting the tranny mount bolt after doing new bushings. Any suggestions?

Flip the nut/bolt to opposite sides?

The clearance is minimal down there, I had a very hard time when I had to replace the bolt with a stainless one... Had to grind the bolt head down to clear.

Is that really what it is? I thought it normally had more clearance, but I all of my oem bushings were missing in the linkage so thats probably why I didn't notice.

Yeah, sourcing a replacement was a colossal pain in the a--.

I ended up finding a bolt that was close(ish), and reducing the profile on all sides until it fit snugly... Makes for increased vibration, but I have almost zero shifter play now.

Had nothing to do with the tranny mount bolt. I had the linkage rod between shifter and tranny flipped. Plenty of clearance now!
