Hydro Dipping!!! (Update: VIDEO of it finished!!!!!)

Post by Tavman_1213 »

Ok so here the thing I am doing a BPT swap and replacing pretty much everything on the car!! When a friend of mine told me i had to paint the valve cover something alittle different cause it the center piece of the BPT apperance! So I decided to get my valve cover powder coated but then I saw this YouTube video of this process called "Hydro Dipping"! I then decided to do some digging in to this topic an see about pricin an stuff! Found a guy in BC that is going to do it for $100 bucks plus shipping!!! So I decided to go ahead an get it done!! I just shipped it of yesterday but it should be done before Christmas!! So my question really is do you gentlemen think this will be a wicked idea??

Sounds super expensive for a purely cosmetic upgrade.

I just used a $10 can of high heat paint.

Hydro dipping to me means when you work for Manitoba Hydro and carpool, and then everyone claims milage.

Just the powder coat looks nice!... I cant wait to see how this looks and holds up. some of the cool paint jobs I have seen on the VC's tends to fade and discolor over time. from what i have read it is pretty durable, I cant wait to see final product.

oh is it supposed to look that way? I mean... is it like marbled or something or is it supposed to look like smoke fumes or something? :confused2:

I think it's more for the marbled look Mark.

I like it, but I still prefer solid colors with white lettering. :D
