1.6 lt build.

Post by Pure-Powder »

Looking for some performance engine parts, has to be for 1.6 and no turbo. Performance head, intake and such... Will be doing a complete rebuild on the stock 1.6 in the race car. Engine swap is not allowed so I have to stay with the original engine. if anyone has any ideas let me know.

secret weapon-r intake
B6T rods, Eagle rods, Pauter rods (<-probably overkill->) Carrillo rods
I've found quite a few rods that claim to be "made of forged 4340 steel"
for relatively cheap (slightly cheaper than Eagles) but I don't know of their
reliability.
Maybe go with a higher compression piston if you're gonna stay NA.
here is a place for rebuild kits ... http://www.rpmrons.com/
better yet, same as above but cheaper... http://www.rpmmachine.com/
Ebay has some kits as well, of course.
... also notable, in my opinion, is the compatability of the 90-94 base model mazda 323 manual steering rack.

I would be tempted to say search round some miata forums.
You might find some perfomance parts there that are compatable.
Heads, Cams etc
L&B flywheel are you allowed?
