there are many 1.6L pistons that will fit.

http://www.importperformanceparts.net/

go to Mazda->Pistons and choose a manufacturer. There are also many aftermarket rebuild kits on that site for the all the B series engines. go to Mazda->Engine Kits->Topline OEM Engine Kits. The B6 and B6ZE are both listed. I believe the B6 they are referring to is the SOHC and the B6ZE is the DOHC.

There is a lot of information available to you on this forum you just have to use the search tool above.

I don't know if I would go much bigger, depends on what you are doing with it (Goals), Keep in mind that this motor started its life as a 1.3L and was bored to a 1.6L I know you can bring it to a 1.7L without stroking it, but its really only recommended if you are running it N/A.

The B6 is a overbored 1.3L from the factory.

All the B series engines except the BP are made from the same basic block casting. There are a few different ports for oil and coolant but they're all basically the same. SOHC or DOHC is determined by the head, not the block.

Hit the nail right on the head.

Deadmaker: What I was saying is that the 1.6L (whether it be a SOHC or DOHC) was originally designed to be a 1.3L. The 1.5L and 1.6L are bored out variants of the original 1.3L motor. All share the same block, the heads CAN be interchanged some with complications, but for the most part are the same otherwise. The OP was mentioning he wanted to know how far he could bore the motor, well the 1.6L being bored over already, does not leave much room.

Thanks for the information :D I didn't have an idea that it was bored version...Wikipedia also reffers to that.
If it's bored doesn't this mean that it looses some strength in block from the unbored version?
Wiki also says that bp featured a forged crankshaft!
Another reason to upgrade a bp and not a b6..
How much you think a bp can be bored?

Standard overbore pistons are usually available in .050", 0.100" and 0.150" increments. Some manufactures offer .5mm, 1mm and 1.5mm overbore pistons.

0.150" over would get you to just over 2L. 2012cc to be exact. I wouldn't go over that.
