I changed today my two front calipers with re build calipers i did the air bleeding as the manual says but the brake pedal is still soft with engine off.(Not hundred percent soft but still soft)With engine on the brake pedal works in deeper position from the position it was before the change. And when you press it until down and releasing it,you hear a strange sound from the pedal(Not air leaking sound)
Btw when i had the brake line out of the caliper the fluid was running until on moment it stopped. In that time the fluid was in the LOW position in the reservoir.I fiiled it and started the air bleeding.
Why is the brake still soft?Is there a chance the brake booster or master cylinder is damaged?
Is there a difference if you press with engine on or off? This may cause a problem?
Forgot to tell that in the end i put my old calipers back but still the same..

Re: Air Brake Bleeding soft pedal
Go for a drive, test them out at a very low speed first, to make sure they work, and then if they feel good at higher speed, its good. If its still too soft for you, keep bleeding, and make SURE the level in the reservoir stays visible.
It doesn't matter what they feel like when the car is off, because you don't use them when the car is off![Razz :P](./images/smilies/icon_razz.gif)

Re: Air Brake Bleeding soft pedal
Hi Ryan..
I think air is the problem..
Is there any difference when bleeding the air with engine on or off?
Is there any chance with engine one to damage the brake pump or anything else?
In the manual it doesn't say if you must have the engine on or off in the processing..

Re: Air Brake Bleeding soft pedal
Nope, no difference. If the car is running, it will just push the fluid harder (more risk of spraying yourself in the face)

Re: Air Brake Bleeding soft pedal
you probably want to bleed all 4 brakes as well.

Re: Air Brake Bleeding soft pedal
I just finished with the new re manufactured calipers...
VERY different braking. The pedal is more stable and function in all the route until the floor..
And something else but very weird.NO MORE vibration in the wheel!!!
You feel the car more tight.NO it is not my imagination.

your old rotors were probably warped causing the vibration
