Hi,
Problem started two weeks ago. The car stalled for no apparent reason. It happened three times during the same day.
Same thing happened yesterday. I used my car all week before without any troubles though.
Not sure if it's related, but the car runs rough and shakes while idling at stop lights. (been doing this for a long time). Stalled on a red light 1 year ago, but it was the first and only time it happened though.
A friend of mine told me that the problem could come from the mass air flow
What do you think?
Thank You, and sorry for my lousy english, I'm from Quebec, I speak french

Re: Car Stalling
check the intake tube for cracks, and make sure all the other vacuum lines are connected. The air flow sensor itself rarely goes bad, but if there are leaks after the sensor, it can cause the problems you describe.

Re: Car Stalling
i just got my car(96 mx3, 4cyl DOHC) and it nearly stalls when i push the clutch in and it only does it when its warm. it may be a leak after the airflow sensor because i had to duct tape it *tear* but i dont think that it is the problem... any steps to fix this would be great

Shrooms... nice.
We need more details. As I read it, you sit there, in neutral, and press the clutch and your car stalls. That doesn't make any sense. Details!

Re: Car Stalling
On my 4cyl auto it would rough idle and almost stall (and sometimes would stall) at idle when stopped at lights.
I did the following and it cleared it up:
1. checked all vac. lines (though mine were all good)
2. Changed out fuel filter (which helped it, but didn't solve it)
3. Ran seafoam through my injectors (which also helped but was still rough idling)
4. Checked engine codes (which showed a code for thermosensor).
After I replaced the thermosensor the rough idle stopped. I suggest too if none of these work to make sure that your idle adjustment is ok, and that it's correctly set.

Re: Car Stalling
well to me this sounds like ur idle is set too low.
could also be a vac leak.
but when you press the brakes
and it dies its because your electrical system is going under a load.
theres a little screw on ur tb.
give like 2 turns counter clockwise.
see if this fixes your problem
