1.8l v6 options

Post by b19gale »

I want to make sure i am looking for the right engines. I have a 93 1.8l v6. If i read correctly elsewhere(nothingI saw was saying exactly) I can use either a 1.8-2.0-2.5 v6 from 93-97 mx3-mx6-626-probe gt without needing to swap harness-mounts etc, just need the engine and ecu. is this correct? if not please correct before I waste to much time looking, also i found a 2.5 klze for just under 1k usd is that the going rate currently?

that's not cheap at all. Where did you find such "deal"? Check ebay, you can get klze for cheaper than that. Make sure you check codes and get klze not de

it was just random web browsing, from a retailer....I would check ebay but being new to these cars/engines I am not 100% on the differences in appearance yet. Right now i am really just looking to getting it back running correctly, so a ZE is not nessacery though if I can get one at a price i can afford atm I will, but i doubt it

To answer your question you can use a 2.5 liter KLDE/KL03, From a 93-97 Ford Probe or 93-97 Mazda MX-6/626/Millenia. It will fit as is and uses all your mounts, wire hanress, transmission, everything is swappable.

A 2.5 liter KLZE is an option too there are 2 different kinds though, Curve neck ZE and Straight neck ZE. Do a search for the differences.

Or the other option is a 2.0 liter KFZE, but as far as I know to properly use this motor is a pain due to it using a MAF sensor instead of the VAF, so the ECU can not be plugged in on your stock harness. Also the motor and harness are more difficult to find over the KL stuff.
