Re: need help
If you haven't checked engine codes I suggest doing so now:
1. Make sure car is off
2. Locate the Diagnostic box in the engine bay
3. Using a paper clip, connect TEN and GND
4. Turn Ignition to ON, do NOT start engine.
5. Watch Check engine light for codes.
6. Compare codes to the ones in the online manual
7. ????????

Re: need help
It could be that the idle screw is set too low or you might have a slight vacuum leak in your intake. The idle screw is near the top of your throttlebody, just give it a turn and you can raise your idle.

Re: need help
what code are you getting? I looked up the codes in the book, there's a throttle position sensor, which is my guess, code 12
Re: need help
If it's the Throttle Position sensor, might as well check it anyways, here's how to diag it:
1. Detach the connector from the throttle position sensor.
2. Connect an ohmmeter between terminals IDL and E.
(these are pins 3 and 4, if you look at the plug from top to bottom... bottom being the last)
3. insert a .004 in (0.1mm) feeler gauge between the throttle stop screw and stop lever
4. verify there's continuity between terminals IDL and E
5. then replaced the feeler gauge with a .027in (.7mm) feeler gauge, verify there is no continuity between terminals IDL and E
6. Then open the throttle wide and verify there is no continuity again between terminals IDL and E.
(courtesy of Chiltons)
You can unscrew your TPS (throttle position sensor) and turn it up or down to adjust it.
Once it's in spec (according to the directions) you're golden. If it's impossible to put it in spec, you'll have to replace your TPS. There are several who have one for sale, including me.

Re: need help
Code 16 is the EGR Valve position sensor. Section F1 page 091 gives you the procedure for diagnosing that code.

Re: need help
Inside joke. Just follow the instruction in the manual that I posted and you should be able to zero in on the problem.
