K8 Fuel cut-off is 7800rpm. I hit it twice before. No sense taking it that high though because the valves don't let it breath enough for any kinds of power.

o crap, what am I, a B6'er doing in a V6'er thread!

rawr, here's some food for thought. Me in my 1.6L :

Top Speed 195/50/15's : 125
Top Speed 205/55/16's : 115

O god and it took a LONG time to get to 125. I probably can do 120 with my bigger tires, but I'd need some downhill :(
... a lot of downhill :(

and no, the redline was nowheres in sight at the moment, so K8'ers, if you're saying you can't go faster than me in my puny, go to sleep.

last year i moved from Lisbon to the top north of Potugal
I made a video, that states this :

" This is a special gift for MX3.com ... full car ( and i show the car with about an extra 150kilos of full boxes ) and full speed."
I show the road, and the speed ir reaches. My cr cant fuel cut-off .. it just stays ther at 7100rpm. And its doing 219 kmh ... like 136 mph ... in those conditions , it cannot travel faster.
K8 :: 136.8 bhp---160 nm---108.0 whp---118lbs/torque
ET: 15.567 @ 136 kmh (84 mph)

Haha I did 180 on that! I had to ease up cause I was catching up to other cars way too quickly, but it still had so much more to give. I'm sure I could've done at least 220 easily.

I hate it when people call bs on other people's sh*t...145 mph with a k8 and stock tranny is very possible. Been there, done that, and more than once. I have a long drive to work(AutoBahn 6 between Kaiserslautern and Saarbruken=30 mile stretch w/ no speed limit) Now it was at roughly 7500 rpm, but it still got up to speed. As far as people saying that their K8 will only go 110 mph!!!!WTF, somethings gotta be wrong with it, or your just too afraid to push past that speed. As I've said in other posts before, I've been trying to kill this K8 motor so I can justify to my wife why I gotta get a DE to build up, but it hasn't happened yet. These are extremely tough engines. My F1 Racing Clutch went fairly quickly though...but that's another story/topic.

Thanks Ryan for posting "Facts"...as I stated before, you do know your sh!t. As for being a smart@$$, we should all strive to get to that level... :2thumbsup:

I'm shocked at those fact too Ryan. Didn't think the stock K8 would do that.... but I can belive it! Can't imagine doing 163mph in mine, that's just mad. Plus my butt would've probably eaten the seat by then

Most I've ever done in mine (due to not being brave enough! ) is about 135mph at about 7k rpm I think. It felt like it still had more to give too, but I bottled it after that as I was catching up with traffic very quickly. That was a stock K8 with just a CAI on it. Still it seemed to get there very quickly with little effort

Was balsting to work this morning at 120mph. That was fun! Still I prefer slower speeds on the twisty back roads by where I live. That is even more fun!

Oh yeah, I agree. Nothing like pulling hard through a curve marked 35 MPH at about 65MPH. Time attack is my passion, not 1/4 mile dragging...

I got up to 129mph on a fairly flat section of freeway (I94 west near Madison) in Wisconsin I had another person in the car with me I was just past 6000RPM and the car sat there for a while not going further I started coming up on traffic so I slowed back down. Maybe without the extra weight of a passenger or more clear road I could have pushed further, but it really seemed to not want to go any faster. Real curious to see what my new KLZE can do. :)

Indeed! Nothing better is having someone tailing you, like some ricer kiddie, on your a-- and you don't brake for the corner, and you watch them just slam on the brakes last minute cause it finally clicks in that they can't make the corner at that speed. Best is doing that on ramps/merges that like 30-40km/h

Mine topped out at 124mph (200km/h). Doesn't really matter since I'm replacing it this summer but just curious.
That's where K8's top out at. I had mine at 124-126 and I had 2 passengers. Maybe with longer gears it could go 135ish.

Not denying your claim, in fact your math is sound, but has anyone here taken into account wind speed? Drag? Put it up on blocks in your garage and you can do it, 263kph wouldn't do on a hwy IMHO.
