Idle fluctuates on slow accel

Post by Mazdaspeed96743 »

Hi everyone. My MX-3 GS has been having bucking and jerking problems under light acceleration. Usually happens when it rains outside or when I start my car after it has been cooking in the sun all day. I pulled on the side of the road and shifted to netral, parking brake on and slowly acceled at around 1000-1500rpm the idle just fluctuates back and fourth. That is why the car is bucking and jerking. I was thinking of changing my IAC as it is a tenth of a volt out of spec. could someone verify this or what else it could be thanks in advance! :)

Could be a vaccum leak, check your intake. If it's the stock accordian they're known for cracks.

Bucking and wet weather, I'd check the disty cap for cracks and inside for anything that looks like a carbon line (kinda looks like someone drew a pencil line). start your engine at night and look at the disty and wire and see if you can see any arching. Cheers.

I know you believe that you understand what you think I said but I'm sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.

Intake thing does not have cracks, owner before me of this car has changed that. So far this is what I had replaced with brand new parts and still the same thing=
Cap,
Rotor,
Spark plugs,
Spark plug wires,
Fuel filter,
PCV valve,
Air filter,
Replaced gaskets by throttle body,
Cleaned out EGR and that pipe thing that connects to it,
Cleaned the ground wire on the disty
