Quicker kick off (question)

Post by slimx »

Hey guys, I gotta Automatic mx3, and i'm wondering.. how could i get a quicker start off? I had a pod filter put in, all that did was change the sound of the car lol.

I live in Australia, and at the moment im a Provisional Driver therefore i cant just chuck in a Turbo or Supercharger, anyone got any ideas?

Perhaps a part that i could re-new maybe to get it kicking off faster?

edit: p.s i only have about $350 left to spend on this. (doesnt include Installation, i get it installed for free :) )

Im sorry , but the automatic mx3 isnt to good for havin a kick start off the line. You would need to swap over to manual. I heard that the automatic transaxle doesnt like off the line kicks to much, or burn outs.

What Motor do you have? Ours come stock with a 1.8 here, if thats what you got you could maybe find a 2.5 Litre engine, KLZE, boosting your horsepower from 130 to 200. Maybe you can find a better motor for 350 there, I hear they are more common.

Auto still a drag, but. you can make that free mechanic work

1993 RS 5 speed SOHC with 89,000 original KMs! (rising fast though).

anyone know.. how much a KLZE is? & Maybe.. some more info on it i dont mind an Engine swap.

Yes im running the 1.8L V6 and unfortunately .. im not allowed to convert to Manual, In Australia licenses for people under 21 are restricted to Automatic OR Manual, because i did my license test on an Automatic vehicle and because all the other cars at home are Automatic i wanna stick with this.

no, that makes perfect sense.

I hate american/canadian driving tests/regulations. They're absolute jokes.

Why not swap with auto? KLZE comes stock with auto, no? Just get the engine with the tranny, and the harness and ECU and boom... but that isn't $350.

Maybe you can find a whole parts car Thats smashed (hit too many roos) or all rusted out & get all the parts you need.

You will have to find an australian MX-3 nut to tell you what you need probably.

I have an 96 auto 1.8L v6 and it DOES kick, more like bucks into secoond gear when you punch it from a stop...sucks a--. You think that something is going to drop out the front end. Design flaw I imagine.
