BUMP for an old post, but a really good one.

I know that this setup, or any setup from a probe/mx6 will raise the front of the car a bit, but I am wondering how much, and what it is exactly that needs to be done to incorporate probe coilovers on an mx3.

Any chance someone has a backup of these pictures or can get ahold of slammed6 and have him repost them?

Sometime in the future I'd like to get a set of Probe TEIN SS's w/ an EDFC inside the car

Are these mx3 version or probe/mx6 version?

I know I can get them for mx3, but I was looking into tein suspensions, solely for the purpose of being able to control them from inside the car.

they are mx-6 coilovers, i had to do a bit of marking out and drilling to make them fit, i didnt realise they made them for the mx-3 now!! when i bought them they werent on sale! I never knew the probe one fitted either, if i had have know that I wud have got the teins!! that adjustable thing in the teins is a load of crap, my mate has it on his silvia and he hardly ever uses it, its jst an expensive gimic if you ask me

Does it work on the silvia? I mean its only $300 more to get the controller for inside the car. I would want it only for switching between 2 different settings, one for DDing on rough roads, and one for track days or aggressive driving. If it can adjust camber too, thats a big plus as I'd want more camber for the track.

You're car looks really really nice. It sits perfectly, actually I would probably even raise mine a little so I have some more suspension travel. I was afraid w/ using the mx6 or probe ones it'd be far too high...although I know for a fact that the tein ones cannot lower as far as the ksport ones, which is why some people don't use the teins.

Do you ever bottom out on your suspension? Do you use the car as a Daily driver? How does it feel on potholes?

You had the exact same issues I had fitting the mx6 coilovers on mine. The spacing on the lower mount on the rears is the worst problem. I didn't want to drill mine out that much so I just sold them and bought an MX3 specific set. It ended up only costing me a couple hundred to pay the extra for a brand new set.

Here's what you have to do to fit Probe/MX6 Ksports on an MX3. I'm sure it's the same for any probe/mx6 suspension.

Front/upper mounts: Nothing, bolts right in
Front/lower mounts: a couple washers on each side and it's nice and snug
Rear/upper mounts: Drill the two holes out a little farther to fit the probe camber plate, bang out the third stud from the camber plate and discard it.
Rear/lower mounts: You have to drill out the holes in the ksports quite a bit to make them fit the mx3 hub. Then about the same amount of washers as the front ones and your good.

In my opinion, the drilling of the rears is a little overkill because of how much you have to remove. But if it's your only option, it's worth the work.

Yeah its sucks that i actually did all that modifying to fit some K-sports, only to have them come up with a MX-3 Specific set a year or so later.

I had them on my MX-3 for about a year, and when i got rid of my MX-3 i sold them to my brother with his MX-3. Still riding stiff and handles awesome.

Can't believe that was over 2.5 years ago when i put them on my car..haha

Yea that's crazy for sure. I remember reading that thread way back and thinking to myself "This is awesome". But, you may have gotten the early batch of mx6/probe ksports. Apperently when they ran low on supply they just reused a Protege ksport shock and modded that for the mx6/probe.. That is why some of them may blow up..

I was wondering if the mx3 ones have the same issue.
