Re: Why don't people want to sell me their mx-3's?

Post by IMACHU2 »

Speaking from experience, let the MX-3's find you! I put up want Ad's on every free Forum and classified sight. It took about a month, but one found me. A running and driving 1994 MX-3 V6 GS 5Spd for $500.00. I just needed a parts car though. The car I bought was really rusty, burned oil and had really high mileage. It did not come with the sexy wheels in the picture, it did come with the stock 5 spoke 15" Mazda wheels though. (no tires).

The "White" MX-3 was silver. You don't need to watch for it though! I used it for parts. I am building A 1994 Mazda 323 with a KLZE. It will be either flat black or flat army green. :D

no offense but maybe they think you're low balling them and refusing to sell it to you.

No offence taken. I understand entirely. That one for $700, I never even made my offer. they just never got me more pics...The '94 for $800, he was keeping contact, but the car was iffy... He wouldn't get me clear pics of the rust. He kept avoiding the important technical questions (like clear title). After avoiding the technical stuff, I shot him a lowball offer of $300...I was originally going to offer 600 for it.

That sunfire, I could have gotten it for $500, but it needed more work than my current broken MX. Rusted out rockers, blown engine, rusted out driver's side quarter panel, dents galore, and 168k miles...
The guy was very cool though, we chatted for like an hour.

It is set for me to get that cheap red one tonight! I'm leaving around 2am, I'll have the car home by noon-ish. Me has works to do tomarrowz :D Wrapping windows FTW!
Oh I am getting it for $200. I offered 300, but the guy said he'd sell it at the price the JY was willing to pay.

After the road trip and if I have money left, I'll go buy a digi-camera and take pics of both cars before/after.

Thanks boosted!

Sorry that I type so much stuff guys.

Well, the car now sits on my driveway. The guy fixed stuff on the car already. He replaced the hatch (still has wrap around spoiler :D ) he fixed the shifter, it still needs a shifter linkage though.
The seats are very nice. Just one little tiny tear on the pass. side thanks to me.
There's a good amount of dents, but nothing serious.
aside from the spot on the passenger side door, there is no rust, yay!!!!
Oh yeah, fully functional power stuffs like winders (windows).

road trip timeline thingy:
8am saturday-go to work, discuss hauling plans with boss
10pm saturday-try to catch a few winks before we leave. (doesn't happen)
12:30am sunday-brother shows up for some odd reason
2am sunday-hit the road.
2:05 am- spare tire to trailer flies off. (Search and recovery mission in a corn field)
6am- get to taylor, MI start to load car
7:30am -leave taylor. (slight ground clearance issues when loading car)
12:30-1pm- get home, drop off trailer with car
1:10 pm-go to work
6pm-finish up work.
8pm(ish)- car is still on trailer. I haven't gotten to mess with it yet, haha!

I'd have a map, but its rather boring. like 260 miles or something on 1 road.
If I'm up at a reasonable hour tomorrow, I'll talk the Old Guy into taking me to Meijer or something and buy a cheapo camera.

Sellin my 95. Come up and drive it home. New brakes, air freshiner, and it starts no probs on cold mornings. A/C works great, shifter's tight and new alt. No power group, crank windows and no moon roof. Good if you end up under water. lol seriously. I'll post it here first then open to the public. Bodies rust free. I only farted twice in the seat.
