MX-3 or Civic
MX-3 or Civic
Hi,
Im planning to buy a car really soon and I dont know what to choose between a precidia and a civic. I really like the look of the precidia over the civic. What I dont know is if the motor of the precidia (V6) is any good over the civic.
So If anyone can give me the pros and the cons that would help.
Thanks!,
Eric
Re: MX-3 or Civic
It depends on whether you want V6 or four cylinder. If a V6 then go for the precidia. The engine is smooth and quiet and the car is a great drive overall. There are a few minor things to look out for but nothing that can't be corrected easily. Other people will be able to give you more specifics. I've only had to replace spark wires on mine to fix a misfire on it which resulted from bad wires. Just research the car you want to buy and make sure it has been looked after well and you should be good.
pros: it's a MX-3
Re: MX-3 or Civic
Get the MX-3. Civics are too common and MX-3s can beat then easily.

Is there many aftermarket parts for the Mx-3 even if its a discontinued car?? (e.g. body kit, performance parts etc...)

Re: MX-3 or Civic
there are plenty of parts. go to the mx3.com main page and look at the performance upgrades and body kit sections.

Compered to civic's, mx-3 aftermarket parts are really rare. It depends how much you plan to spend on modification. You can get a lot of part for the mx-3 but you won't have a lot of choice.

Just wandering.... does a mx-3 can beat a civic in a race??
Re: MX-3 or Civic
I would buy a u-go before I would even begin to think that I think I might possibly entertain the idea of owning a civic... No I'm not a Honda hater.. I own one (Lude).. But they are also way too common. Pull up to any light, look to your right (cause you know they are chillin' in the slow lane) and chances are there is one within a car length. And ya... they all look the same..

Re: MX-3 or Civic
I love my MX-3 but if I were you, I would probably get a Civic. You can find WAY more custom parts and mods for a civic and it is cheaper to maintain. I have a 92 civic and V6 mx-3. If you want to get an mx-3, get the V6, it would compare betterr to the civic. I personally think that mx-3 looks better and has a sportier, more aggressive look, but when things start breaking down, get ready to spend. I've spent over $1000.00 on my V6 within the last six months. Its reality that cars need to be maintained and serviced, its just that it is much easier and cheaper to fixup a civic than a MX-3, especially the V6.
But Do your research and see what suits your personality and wallet!

Correct me if I'm wrong but a mx-3 GS (V6) can beat all civics except the v-tech ones. Again, I don't know alot about hondas and I don't have any numbers to prove my sentence.

Not quite, check http://www.car-stats.com/ for actual stats. Civic has a bunch of different models CX , DX, EX, LX, Si, Vtec, DelSol-Si, DelSol-Vtec..ect. Most are similar to the V6 MX-3 and the rest are faster. Also civics have lots of potential for speed and mods, more than MX-3s.
