Auto Tranny Help -still-

i know i keep posting these worthless posts inorder to figure why my auto tranny <B>sucks</B> but here it goes:<BR>the tranny slips when shifting into 2nd and into 3rd. sometimes it totally slips and just revs up for a few seconds. i took it in to have it checked and they said they couldn't tell anything was worn etc.<BR>so do you have any ideas what it could be, since there are no visible problems with it.<BR>my friend just had her tranny replaced(maxima) and she said that the first time she took it in, they told her also that nothing was wrong. she also had an auto.<BR>any help is great appreciated!<p>[ January 06, 2002: Message edited by: -=deathtrap-mx3=- ]

Not sure if this helps but does your auto do this all the time or just when you first startup and go?<P>My previous MX-3 was an Auto RS and used to slip between gear changes but only when it was cold. If this is the case, just let it stand warming for 5 mins and then head out. <P>Hope this helps some.

I experienced the same exact problems. It gradually got worse and worse. Sometimes I would redline and it wouldn't shift unless i feathered the gas. Then one day, it just "snapped". Every gear was like neutral, if I was in drive or reverse I got no response just the rpm's rising when I gased it. Took it to a reputable tranny shop and they said it needed to be rebuilt, so I did that. Good luck... I'd say your in for a rebuild soon.

yes, finchuck, that's what i'm afraid of!!<BR>it used to only slip when it was cold, but it started early this "tx winter". it was about 60 out and it reved right up. it seems to be off and on. somedays its horrible and somedays its alittle nicer to me.<BR>thank guys!
