Installing a Shift Light?

Hey guys,

Recently picked up a shift light off ebay and was wondering if anyone has experience installing one on a 1996 mx3?

this is the shift light-

this is what the item says -
Simple 3 wire hookup which is;
1. - 12v Ignition lead
2. - Ground lead
3. Green wire to connect to the coil or;
electronic module depending on what ignition you have.

but yeah im really new and newb....help :|

1) Connect to any source that has +12 volts only when the igntion is on (ignition wire in ignition harness, ignition swithced slot from fuse box, radio ignition wire, etc).

2) Connect to any metal part of the vehicle chasis.

3) This wire needs to sense the tach voltage. This is an A/C signal that tells the tachometer how fast the engine is rotating, based on the frequency of the signal. You can get a tach signal at one of the harnesses going to the distributor. Should be a yellow/blue wire, in black plastic wire loom.

It'll help a lot to have a test light. I believe everybody should have one.

Thanks for the reply umcamara,
ill most likely end up at my mechanic begging him2 quickly show me haha
because when i pop my hood there is that many cables n crab going on and
i have no idea....

if i used the radio ignition wire wont that interfear with my stereo?

i bought it off ebay, for $65 AU, they had red and white ones heaps cheaper but i wanted the black to match my interior

it says they only post to australia. if you are really keen i can pick one up and send it ova if you want to send me the money?
