Post by OutlaW »

Since my car is a N/A K8, and i dont plan in turboing it soon ... which gauges should i put in ?
I want something in the middle of practical and beautifull

One of the gauges I always wish my car had is a oil pressure gauge. I just like to be able monitor that kinda thing in real time. Besides that, voltage might be a good one?

so ... since i only want 2 gauges ...
air/fuel ratio + oil pressure ?
air/fuel ratio + voltage ?
air/fuel ratio + vacuum ?

i wouldent really bother with Air/fuel, i have one but never installed being they are kinda useless.. only correct it your stoich,
and wont blocking off your vents kinda suck in the winter? why not an Apillar pod?
either way im sure it will turn out nice for you, ambition is always good.,

Yeah... I've never understood why someone would want to block off their air vents, unless they're building a pure racecar.

Outlaw is from Portugal, where it's hot, but I'd still want my vents when it's hot, for some cool air.

To each their own...

i've been talking to a lot of professional car guys and one gauge that always comes up is exhuast temp... they say it is very important in tuning and knowing how well the engine is running i'd look into that.

i'm personally doing
oil pressure
A/F ratio
Exhuast Temp
not sure on 4th still deciding between a few

I'm doing two on the Apillar and two in my center vents thay way i still have the two outer vents and two lower vents I never liked the top center vents anyway, you can easily undo the hose behind the vents and point them down then you won't lose that air flow, and i've spoken with others taht put the gauges in the center and didn't bother undoing the hoses behind them and they said the other vents seemed to blow alittle harder and that the heat and A/C still worked just fine

If you have a bubble dasha dn you are having trouble choosing, then why don't you just make the left side air vent a gauge along with the center ones. Then you have three, and all accessible.

why would i add a gauge if i don't need it, i know i need those three i'm just not sure what others i need, when i do turbo i'll add vacuum probably but i'm not sure what 4th one i really need and maybe i don't need a 4th so i could just do two in the A pillar and one in the center until i go with boost

outlaw unless you are doing a lot of tuning the air/fuel gauge won't help you.
oil pressure is a good idea and maybe exhuast temp / vacuum / or voltage although i don't really know what good the voltage gauge is
