wire coming out of the center of the block under the i/m?
I just picked up my ze and the wire coming up from the center of the block under the i/m is cut. I'm not sure what it does or where it goes. Its just one wire but its a shielded wire. any ideas? How should i fix this

Looks like Knock sensor wiring, (specialy if it is a little closer to the belt side). Briefly what it does: send in ecu info about noise engine to correct timming under specific circonstance. It should not be a problem under normal usage but will not improve performance under heavy load.

on my de, the knock sensor what right next to the throttle body, and im sure it depends on the year of your engine, i know on an OBII, the knock sensor wire will be a red wire wrapped in white.

no pic? the only single wire i can think of at the moment (i'm at work) is the ground near the secondary coolant inlet - didnt think the knock sensor's were just a single wire...i could be wrong...if you can provide a pic - i'm positive i can tell you what it is.

Yeah, most of the Ze comming out there got the knock sensor connector located on the right side on IM. You have to pass the wire to the left on IM to reach engine harness connector of mx3. On mx6/626, this connector is located just above the TB....that's why.
If it's too hard for you to route the knock wire, you might think to remove the IM out. You'll got plenty of room to reach the wire.
If you plan to let the knock signal unplugged, you'll got a huge lost of power due to massive retard in timing MAP.
