the mx-3 dash and console was used in another mazda?

Post by Mooneggs »

So I'm browsing through ebay germany as I usually do and I find an auction for an armrest... but the pic of the car it is in is NOT an mx-3 and yet it has the same dash, vents, cluster and console as the mx-3!

I'm just wondering if anybody knows what other cars used the mx-3 dash... maybe just overseas?

I'm guessing this is a 323 because it looks like it might be a 4 door...

And if that is true has anybody tried to put a 323 dash in the mx-3 since apparently they are the same width??

LOL it looks like it has an rx-7 front end and maybe some predating hues in the rear to the mazda 6 hatch!

I like it!

oh and notice the armrest in that one... so that means that it would fit in the mx-3!

ive got the mx3 interior in my 90 323, it fits but there is about a 2-3" gap from the dash to the window due to the glass being on a different angle. the door covers also crush the edge of the dash.

You mean that the other way what dash does the MX-3 have? since the dash in the pictures was in the show rooms a full year and a half before the AZ-3/ Presso (MX-3) hit the market. I was in Brussels in the fall of '89 and was looking at the (BG/CA) 1st gen 323F. When I first looked at the MX-3 in the winter of '91 I was amazed the interior of the MX-3 was almost a copy of the 323F but with taller backed euro (BG) 323GT seats.

We have plenty of these cars here..

It is Mazda 323F, BG series, made from 1990 to 1994, then it was replaced by BA-series 323, known as Lantis in Asia. In fact, MX3 is partly based on this 323F BG series.

That center armrest in the picture is not OEM, it is aftermarket. BTW, this is how this car looks like. :) The dash was also borrowed from this model to MX3 cars.

I am wondering which Mazda models were not available in America.

Remember.. daniel put mx-3 interior in a 323, and did a k8/mx-3 brake set up in it as well.
