Post by bdr2k5 »

can you use and auto v6 ecu on a 5spd?, i've seen the pinouts on the ecu, auto just got a few extra on the harness connecter, seems like it'd work, anybody tried it!?

Yes you can. I am doing it with my GS and there are a couple of people that have already done it.. JWMX3 and I think Perry did too when he converted his car from ATX to MTX. Even though his car is a RS.. same would apply to the GS even with different ECU's & TCM's I would think.

I didnt think there was a difference? I thought that the rewiring when doing an ATX to MTX swap was just a jumper to trick the neutral switch to let you start the car. I just got a supposibely "auto" ecu off of ebay for $15, threw in a probinator chip and off i went.
