Lets Make an official SAFC 2 Wiring Thread!
Well considering this is the worst topic to search for because every thread is a dead end or confusing as hell, we should make an official SAFC 2 wiring thread. Lets cover everything, where the ecu is located the color of the wiring, the wires you dont use on the SAFC, DOHC, SOHC, V6 ect. But first I need help for my car! Its a 95 1.6 L. Where is the ecu located, what pinouts you use so on.
Thanks guys.
So far I have this
SAFC Side --------------- Ecu Side
_________________________________
Red Wire (power) -> 1B
Gray Wire (tps) -> 2M
Green Wire (RPM) -> 2E
Brown Wire (Ground 1) -> 2C closer to the ECU
Black Wire (Ground 2) ->2C further from the ECU
White Wire (Airflow) -> 2o Wire 2 MAF
Yellow Wire (Airflow) -> 2o Coming off ecu harness
Blue Wire -> o2 Sensor (2N)
Set on hotwire sensor 11
Now considering Wire color from the online shop manual
Blue = L
Black = B
Brown = BR
Dark Blue = DL
Dark Green = DG
Green = G
Gray = GY
Light Blue = LB
Light Green = LG
Natural = N
Orange = O
Pink = P
Red = R
Purple = PU
Sky Blue = SB
Tan = T
White = W
Yellow = Y
Violet = V
So now according to the wiring diagram i am assuming the schematics would follow something along these lines
SAFC Side --------------- Ecu Side

Red Wire (power) -> 1B (White and Red)
Gray Wire (tps) -> 2M (Blue and Violet)
Green Wire (RPM) -> 2E (Green)
Brown Wire (Ground 1) -> 2C closer to the ECU (Blue and light green)
Black Wire (Ground 2) ->2C further from the ECU (Blue and light green)
White Wire (Airflow) -> 2o Wire 2 MAF (????)
Yellow Wire (Airflow) -> 2o Coming off ecu harness (????)
Blue Wire -> o2 Sensor (2N) (Red and Blue)
Set on hotwire sensor 11
So is this even the proper wiring for the DOHC??
Thanks guys.

I should also add that to my knowledge you dont use the orange, pink or purple wires on the SAFC 2. Also in case anyone was wondering I used the wiring diagram on the online shop manual Z - 32, so I basically need someone to clear up what colors the white and yellow wires coming off the safc 2 hook up to on the ecu, and if this is infact the correct wiring
thanks guys
thanks guys

I don't got much, but I'm glad you're putting this all out there. I had planned to, but I'm swamped with work and haven't had time. I'll have some time to look at the 95 wiring guide over the weekend but for now all I can offer is their website which has all their documentation (which is helpful).
Apexi Support Page
I'm a bit curious as to how similar the wiring/pin-outs are to the miata, since it would be nice to be able to make a harness which I could wire outside and then just clip on rather that having to cut into the wires near the ecu.

So I poked around the 95 1.6L wiring diagrams. Most of it matches (some minor differences, notably rpm) what was on page 52 of the SAFC2 wiring diagram for the B6ZE (which are diagrams Z5-a&c).Red Wire (power) -> [1B] (White and Red)
Gray Wire (tps) -> [2M] (Blue and Violet)
Green Wire (RPM) -> [2E] (Green)
Brown Wire (Ground 1) -> [2C] closer to the ECU (Blue and light green)
Black Wire (Ground 2) ->[2C] further from the ECU (Blue and light green)
White Wire (Airflow) -> [2O] Wire 2 MAF (????)
Yellow Wire (Airflow) -> [2O] Coming off ecu harness (????)
Blue Wire -> [2N] o2 Sensor (Red and Blue)
In the 95 book:
[2O] The maf is labled (Light Green/Black)
[2M] TPS (Blue/White)
I hooked my remote starter up to blue/yellow for rpm. How did you get 2E for rpm and what is the difference between 1G 2G and 2E?
well i hooked it up last night and it runs like a bag of piss! The RPM is correct because it gives the exact reading, but the throttle is fucked. Idling its at like 94% and when i pin it the throttle decreases dramatically. Also I have no idea what sensor to choose. I chose the hotwire sensor and put on 1 to 1 but it still runs rich like you wouldn't believe. So im thinking the wiring is probably wrong. Oh well im gonna go mess with it for a while and see what happens.

SAFC on a K8
Can a SAFC (1,2 or NeO) actually work on k8? anyone has the diagram for that?
