92 rs will barely start

Post by delpy32 »

i just got done putting my new exhaust on and it exits out the side in front of the pas. side back tire... now every since i hvae my car is so hard to start... it tries to turn over but the "chugs" are about every 6 seconds and it smells really bad like rotten eggs... i heard the rotten egg theory was a plugged cat. converter but i dont know...after i get it started it runs like normal and everything...its just getting it started is the problem... do you guys have any clue on wat this is and how to fix it...
thanks

no it didnt break that o2 sensor that one is still there...i didnt know if there were any other ones that i might have ripped off ...nothing fell in there that i know of... and its like when i got to start it its like the battery is dead...i got the battery, alternator, and the starter tested and the shop said they are all tip top shape... when i start it sometimes is so bad that only the starter will start clicking...its like 11 at night and i want to get it done tomarrow morning so any info will help...maybe its not even the cat. if you have any other ideas ill check them all...thanks

Try this - crank the engine one revolution - stop cranking but leave the ignition on - this will prime the fuel pump for a while - when you hear the fuel pump turn off - try to start again. If it catches on immediately then maybe you have a fuel pump/filter problem...
If not - try a tune up - cap, rotor, wires, plugs, bottle of fuel inj cleaner etc.
