speaker fit problem

I too have had this problem when installing my Sony Xplode 3ways in the doors. Not too worried with the factory condition drilled new holes in the sheet metal. Be warned that the 3ways I put in are too long for the space between the door and the window when all the way down. Make sure you install them with the window down to check for clearance and shim as neccasary! I am currently working on making custom kicker panels out of fiberglass to make the speakers point more toward the passengers. Hope this helps.

I got two sets of sony xplode speakers, one set for the front, the other for the rear. Mine was 6 1/2 and they sure did not fit right. I made some extra wholes with a drill and it's been sitting in the door and in the rear nicely for about a year so far.
