i want to install a CAI

on my current stock intake, there are numerous other connections going out from the intake.

for example, one tube is coming off the air intake into my valve cover, Exhibit A. im assuming its to cool the camshaft or whatnot.

another tube is going to something else, i dont know what it is going to. Exhibit B.

and Exhibit C, the 'big black box', has an electrical connection coming off of it.

now, what i want to do, is take the whole thing off, and get a CAI attached to the fuel injection system. but doing so would leave no connections for these other things.

what would happen if i just left those things disconnected?
and, also, what is that big black box? is it an electrically powered air intake?
