thats somewhat normal.
do some more diagnostics before replacing parts.

this might help, when i was putting the axle back in on the drivers side, it didn't just go in like it did on the other side. me and my friend had to kinda force it in? it did not come out easily either....
mine pretty much just slid in. i pushed it in quickly to get the clip in there and that was about it. i put some grease on the splines first though. getting them out is still a PITA even when they have grease on them.
