Tokico Blue struts
I just order a set of tokicos, i'm just going to run stock springs for now since it is a daily driver and it snows here. Anyways, what else should i get while i'm redoing the suspension?
I'm thinking:
dust boots
thrust bearings (are they only on the front or all four?)
anything else i should replace while in there? are there gaskets between the strut mount and frame? i've never done suspension work before so i'm kinda clueless.

I realize that, I was considering the fact that you may do this later.ryanlindenberg wrote:ryanlindenberg wrote: i'm just going to run stock springs for now since it is a daily driver and it snows here.

yea i probably will lower it later, but i'll just put the camber bolts in when i put the springs in too.
for the dust boots: do the tokicos come with them or do i have to buy some? if i do have to buy them, are they all the same? or do i need ones specific for the tokico's?
are there gaskets between the strut mount and frame?
thanks for the help so far.

there are no gaskets that you need to replace. ALTHOUGHT. If your strut mounts are cracked or rusted (usually the front) then you will need new ones. I beleive KYB sells some..
Also look into getting new bumpstops if your old ones are warn. Don't wanna wreck your new stuff do you? Also any reason why you chose the blues over the zx2 ones? zx2 struts are way cheaper, and aside from the dremeling (2 minute job), a direct swap.
Now, I'm going to tell you now, get new springs...you have better struts, and you plan on lowering one day, so you might as well do it now. As for daily driver/snow stuff, mine is also a daily driver and it snows here too...about 6 months of the year, and the other half are construction. So far i have had no problems with my ZX2 tokico's and eibach springs. The only thing is driveways, just gotta take her at an angle...i suggest that if you want to replace your springs, do it now. You wont' regret it.

yea a friend of mine who used to own an mx-3 lowered his and he said he didn't have any problems. he had the factory bumper though, i'm just concerned that my mazdaspeed front would crack if i hit some snow with it when it is that cold (fiberglass). maybe i'll throw my springs in now...i'd ahve to wait for my next paycheck to order them though.
