ya i thought that but wasnt sure, i took it for another drive but theres alot more problems then just breakin in my engine then i thought...i think my rear oil seal went got oil coming out of the flexplate between the tranny and block. and its most likely spraying oil all inside my drivetrain and my clutch is already messed up and we decided we are gonna drop the tranny and do some work on that for the summer. cuz i still cant even get this engine to go anywhere with any kind of power and the clutch slipps everytime i take it out. ill keep you guys updated

yeah, oil in the bellhousing will ruin your clutch i had that when i first bought my car, and there is no way my clutch would grip. you can get away with degreasing your bellhousing, pressure plate, and flywheel. but your clutch plate is ruined, no way to clean the oil off it. keep us informed on what happened and why the engine is sluggish, dont want to mess up my rebuild!

that sicks you choulda changed your seals too. How many miles where on your car. If it was over 150,000 it would have been a mandatory seal change for me.

Well good luck man. Just get a timing seal kit and a rear main seal kit, Get the car ready as if you were going to change the timing belt for the front seals and the rar seal you obviously wanna take out the tranny :P.

if your just popping out the tranny, i dont think there are any seals you need if you already have the rear mainseal. i would grab some clips and pins for your axels just in case. god knows i lost half of mine. just nice to have them on hand
