Over-rev at higher speeds

Post by Billyd »

94 MX3 1.6 5 speed. My idle is good but I am getting over 3000 rpm at only 55 mph. It seems to be overrevving when I am on highway. Clutch is slipping some too. Could clutch be reason for over-rev?

Its only going to get worse if your clutch is going...I replaced mine for 500 bucks. Untill I first noticed it, it only took 2 weeks before the clutch was completly gone

The clutch has been "slipping" for over 7 months now. I was told there is an adjuster somewhere...could that be it?

Just like you said after about 3000 rpm the clutch kept slipping I couldnt go much faster then 80 km/h in 5th, not so much overreving

If you have to replace the cluth i would most defently recommend South Bend. I got mine for $170.00 us, its very smooth and very Strong. 300% stronger then stock, And their customer service is awsome. Just a recommendation in case it ever comes up. Good Luck
