Emergency flares?

Post by PlatinumTLC »

What kind of emergency flares do you guys use?
I am getting some for christmas presents and I read that the standard flares that need to be ignited are dangerous around oil spills and gas. I saw the turbo flare things that are the size of hockey pucks and are multicolored, but they are like $50 each.

So what are the alternatives that are effective and are affordable? Thanks.
