Lambo Update

Post by ooELMOoo »

Well i finaly got my shocks in for the kit and gave it a try to day after taking almost everything of my inner fender off.....The first problem with his kit was the holes where in the wrong place ......I bought these re drilled...Now the kit is on and the bottom mount is welded 1/2 inch to high ...so tommorow im going to go down to the local weld shop and get it redon...they also do blue printing and fabricating and hopefully can copy these bad boys for cheap...but here is a pic so far................

I see you only have the single shock syetem. Can you take a pic from the front of the car? I would like to see how far out the door is when it is in the full up position.

im still trying to decied how far i want it to go out...right now it only goes out 2 inches because the wholes wernt drilled big enough(the shock just sits in the hole...Yet the design (if drolled properly) is actuall a double hinge.) u can open the door normaly or if u want to impress u can open it almost straight up lambo style......But i dont know what effect it will have on the fender and i cant test it untill the hindge is fixed....i will let you know

i never thought i'd say this, but SWEET!

I'd seriously buy a "kit" if it were reasonably priced....reasonable being like 200 bux or less lol (which is probably dreaming)

that site shows one of the hardest ways of doing the mod. you have to cut your door up and .... too much work, and if done wrong... ouch. permanent damage. I looked it up before doing my hinge conversion. i'm thinkin' of getting linear actuators for mine ever since my shock died on me. Oh yeah, btw, remember a while ago I told every1 that my car door got hit by a bus and messed up my shock? well, i got paid today by them! Gave me double the money for the price of the shocks and everything else too. since I got a little extra, I was thinkin of motorizing. anyone know of a good actuator manufacturer? I was thinking Linak. I don't know. I'm just wondering how much force/pull power is needed. It'd be so cool tho.

Please post pics of the hinge kit when its in exactly the right position on the inner fender, would help the rest of us line it up when we do the mod.
cheers.
