Wheel Noise

Post by axess »

Hi guys,
I got a squealing noise comming from the from right wheel on my '96 RS. It happens most of the time when I'm slowing down or taking off. It stops if I hit the brake. I just did a brake job in the front, new pads and discs, but the problem started before that. I tought the brake job would fix the problem, but it didn't
What do you think ?

I have the same god damn problem. I just had a brakes job done as well. My mechanic told me the brakes were fine there was no need to replace them. How does one stop the squeaking in my wheel.?

When I got my alternator changed the mecanic did have to remove the right axle to get it out. Could that be related to the problem ?
Could it be some kind of greasing or lubrication problem ? just a tought...

Turns out the problem was probably the back plate that was touching the disc. It stoped making noise....for now ;)

I just returned it to the guy who took my alternator out. He just took a crow bar to bend it a bit so it would stay clear of the disc

there are also some clips that go next to the caliper when you take it off, I guess its to help eliminate rattling.
they may have coem off or have been bent.
