Diamond logos

Post by purewhitemp5 »

Anybody else have the Diamond emblem on the wheel center caps , horn pad , and hood instead of the rounded emblem ? I didn't really notice until I replaced my horn pad and a wheel. The replacment parts had the rounded logo and my car has the diamond.

I have the diamond logo on my 92 GS. I heard it got switched because they were going to get sued over it something. That's hearsay though.

Actually it was only the diamond shape during like the first 9 months of the MX-3. It was Mazdas first logo that did not include their name or the letter M.

If I remember correctly, it looked very similar to a Peugeot logo or something and they were filing a big lawsuit against Mazda.

I have the diamond logo and I am proud to own such a rare pice of Mazda history!

I have a diamond logo as well, and I'm proud of it, but unfortunately the only one left on her is the one on the hood, but the CF hood is getting installed, than there don't be any left :(

Yeah that logo was on the 92 models only. Changed after that lawsuit.

Only other car i've seen with that logo is the 92 929's. The protege, 323, 626, mx6 and mpv didn't have that new emblem on their designs since they are all older / boxier, they still had the simple "mazda" across the grille. Then in 93' mazda introduced the new mx6, 626, rx7 and changed the grille on the mpv and protege to fit the flame emblem that the 93+ mx3's have

what is the manufacture date of your car?

Look on the door jamb of the drivers side door...

Mine is September 1991 and has the diamond logo.

If yours is shortly after that, then someone has changed the logos on your car.

I suppose its possible too that if your car was manufactured in 1991 or early 92 and then sat at the dealer until after the lawsuit- the dealer could have been forced to change the logos on all in-stock inventory... just a guess though.
