DOHC B6 Turbo Manifold on Ebay

Post by atlantamx3 »

I know it says its for a Miata- but the DOHC 1.6 in the Miata is the same as the 94+ MX-3.

The Miata BP manifolds wont fit without some major cutting & flipping- but the one looks like it would fit the MX-3 with little or no problem.

Just a thought!

I dont think it will work. I was looking at this exact auction. It will put the turbo pretty high in the engine bay. To make it work you will probably have to run with the hood off.

It doesent say what turbo fits on the flange. if it was a VJ14. its possabe it might fit under the hood but very unlikly. all you would have to do, is have a shop cut the the flange off and flip it over and reweld it together. then it would work like a champ

so cut the tubes from the manifold flange or cut the turbo flange off the header?

does it matter? just seperate the tubes from the flange. grind smooth flip the flange upside down and reweld. piece of cake. should only take a shop an hour at the most, maybe two.

Junk.
It looks like it might be flanged for a Mitsu turbo.
What I dont like about it is that it isnt even ready for an external wastegate if you wanted one.
Stay away from the big 3. Obx,SSautochrome, apc. I read on the honda sites all the time and hundreds of people have contested to there shitty quality. Though some pieces are alright and people are still using them they have way more negative responce to positive.

I agree Totally. But from what i have read and seen (in person and in Pics) I wouldnt trust them. Have you ever seen an external wastegate flange break off Like completley, not just crack, it broke off to the point were the only thing holding the external wastegate from hitting the ground was a couple of vacuum lines? I have. Have you ever seen Welds on the tubes crack and leak after 1 week and maybe 10-12 heat cycles? I have. Each of those problems came from one of those 3 manifolds.

Uh... correct me if im wrong... but you dont want heat escaping from your headers or exaust... at least not for a while. Your car will preform better and you engine bay will stay alot cooler, thats why they make things like

http://www.heatshieldproducts.com/infer ... r_wrap.php

.............

If thats true than why the he## do those say "The manifold is made out of SUS 304 Hi-Grade Stainless to help disperse heat."

..."to help disperse heat."

Ummmm... WTF?
