MRC Lowering Springs on ebay 1.8" Drop
Even though dropzone is about 10 blocks from my house I could never get down there to buy springs so I ended up doing it ebay style. The MRC one's on ebay looked suprisingly like dropzones and the 1.8" drop made me curious. They were only $80-90 shipped. Once they got here I popped open the box and they looked just like dropzones that someone was selling out of the back of the factory.
I installed them with Tokico Blues this weekend and I really like the results. The drop is right on and the handling is very satisfactory.
Has anyone else used these? I have a gut feeling they are just Dropzones under another name. Everyone I showed them to thought the same thing.

Next time I'm near a digicam I'll snap some pics. I really need to buy my own camera.

I finally got to snap some pics. None specifically og the springs, but the drop is clear. I had a little less wheelgap on the stock rims. I gotta get some taller profile tires. These came with the rims.
Now with no flash. It makes a huge color difference.
Notice the flash bringin out the Tokico Blues

I had the Tokico HP kit on my Probe. These ride the same as the Tokico Springs. They are just considerably lower. If there was an HP kit avail for the MX3 I would have bought it.
I don't a have a problem with these. One of my friends who bossted his MX6 has had Dropzones on it for a couple years with no problems. A boosted ZE in an MX6 is considerably faster than my ZE MX3. I don't see any safety problems.
I've funded my entire MX3 project with money from selling my probe. It's kinda like a little budget project for fun.
MX3 - $500
KLZE - $750
Tokicos - $300
Springs - $90
Rims w/ Tires $200
Megasquirt - $150
Maintenance items ot get it reliable and safe - $400
By the time I hit $2500 I'll have some SRD stuff too.

So has anyone else had any experience (good/bad) with these springs...? I'm seriously considering buying them, simply for budget reasons. And these ones appear to be progressive rate, earlier ones were single rate I think (atleast the pics on Ebay were)...? And $90 USD (about $105 Cnd) to my door...!

Thanx, John
* sorry to revive an old thread, but it was the only one appropriate to reply to after I searched 'MRC'...

John, I must say .... you is one colourfull guy ... LOL.
Sorry I can't offer any extra insight, but if they're progressive - that's a good thing!!! Although the pics don't really show a progressive winding, but rather, it appears like it's a 2 stage winding. At any rate - liftime warranty - gotta like that!!

But agreed, "Lifetime Warranty" is always a good thing. Unless they plan on going under, lol...

mrc springs
I recently bought these springs of ebay and they were pretty simple to install, maybe 1-2 hrs depending on your tools. I have not had any problems out of these springs and they ride pretty comfortable.
