how much HP gain will i get from taking out my cat and replacing it with a test pipe. will there be any difference in performance or will it just make my car sound all raspy and sh!t? my friend said it made a little improvement but i just wanted to see what you guys would say. oh and im putting this on my 1.6l dohc mx3.

It helps on a lot of cars, but it's different for every car. Just like how some really come alive with a header while others are just like eh.... it's definatly worth a shot at some cheap horsepower

where would you GET a test pipe? I've never ever seen one for an mx-3.

you can get it from ebay.
but im getting mines from a local shop.

Test pipes are easy. One way is to just have an exhaust shop made a pipe that measures the same as your cat, weld some matching flanges to it and voila! Should be like $30 bucks.
It might be slow, but it's not a civic!

i just installed my test pipe today and it seems to be more responsive when i gas it, and the good thing is that it isnt loud like how those honda's are. Any of you guys have a test pipe on your car? if so how much seconds did it shave off your 1/4 time?
