One possible cause to rule out- Check the ribbed air intake hose closely for cracks which can allow unmetered air into the intake stream. Unmetered air can put the engine into a stall or near-stall. The crack(s) can be small enough that they only open to allow extra air in when the engine "flexes" a bit in its mounts - such as when stopping, or first accelerating from a stop. If cracks are present, a temporary tight wrap of duct ape will work to seal it til you can replace the hose.

hiccups point to alot of areas...
known cures are
1) plug the intake and make the car hold its breath as long as it can.
2) a glass of sugar water in the gas tank helps 2
3) try to scare her somehow, i find running on a tank of 89 octane is pretty scary!!
if you have any other remedies please share

I found that hypnosis worked well to get rid of my cars hiccups.. the trick was finding a shiny coin big enough to swing back and forth in front of her head lamps so that she didnt get distracted while I was hypnotizing her. Had to use a engine hoist to hold the coin by its chain in front of her.. then me and a buddy pushed it back and forth till she went under.. only took about 5 minutes too. She hasnt hiccuped since
