Do I need any special equipment for that?
And, the unit has a CD button, but it's only a cassette player, what is that used for?

you should just have to pop off the faceplate and there should be two tabs like slots on either side most of the time you can shove a coat hanger in there and unhook the clips and the unit should slide out. worse case pull off the center console cover and grab hold and reaf it out if your upgrading you'll get a new din sleave to mount to and if you happen to break the lower little plasitc bar super glue works great!!!

The installed one is the XR-U110, not stock radio.

Looks like an older sony deck. One of the first detachable faces. I bet the trim that surrounds the detachable face is attached to the radio and doesn't come off.
but:
With the face off. Look at the top of the deck just below the trim. U will see two slots, one on either side of the deck. They will be horizontal.
U will need two thin peices of metal to slide in there to unclip the clips.
Where u from? maybe someone in your area have the old sony keys for the deck. (they are thin metal, with round tips, while the newer keys are square and look like JVC keys)

Let me put a picture of the front with the faceplate off.
So is the rectangular hole on near the upper right corner of hole for the cassette the right one (right above the screw)? Where is the other one then?
Thanks,
BTW, I'm in Atlanta.

Ok, no horizontal slots on that one!!! it's not that old
See if you can pop the trim off with a flat head screwdriver
or Reach your hand around the back and see if you can push the deck out.
