Bigger Brakes...Are there any for us?
Bigger Brakes...Are there any for us?
Has anyone upgraded their brakes?
I need some beefier brakes, want them to fit in 16' rims.
Anyone know of anything that fits on our setup with minor mods (Mx-6?)
I have a 96 GS.

Yup they do carry them, but when i asked a while back somone told me they were bad and would seize (cant remember why) and should only be used for drag racing... Im not 100% sure why so for now i've decided jsut to look at cross drilled rotors.atlantamx3 wrote:I believe precisionbrakes.com makes a set-- but they run around $1200 or so I think.
Ever notice anyone driving slower than you is an idiot and anyone driving faster than you is a maniac?

I got cross drilled rotors, stainless steel brake lines and ceramic brake pads
that's it for now but I'm playing with the idea of buying the actual big brake kit

Wouldn't a good quality 2 piston caliper compliment the upgrade you currently have?babyblueMX3 wrote:I got cross drilled rotors, stainless steel brake lines and ceramic brake pads

slotted rotors would help..I couldn't pass the deal I had for the cross drill I have 100$ for all 4 got them from a fellow member here
but yeah a 2 pistons caliper would be great. not sure if precisionbrake sells them

Talk with Rafi, of R-R Racing, he has some big brakes for MX-6s and Probes and said that he would build a set for my MX when I'm ready. If the cost of 2500 gives you an upset stomach, just do some Hawk street pads, slotted rotors (drilled ones are much more likely to break) and some stainless lines, then completely flush the old brake fluid and check into rebuilt calipers front and rear. Make sure you get a competent person to help you with the install as a good installation will make a huge difference. My car will stop way better than stock with the above mentioned mods. Easily good enough for anything that you have on your car. (not that your car isn't awesome, but we'd know if you had the fastest ZE on the board)

I know many others right now have big power but I have set my goals high and have the engine to go there.
20psi on a ze will be fast
