Are the ones that you have that squeak stainless steel? After expirementing I discovered the reason that they squeak is that oxidation(rust) from the hardware gets inside the rod end, and the ball is then not rolling only on the teflon causing it to squeak. By using stainless hardware there will be no oxidation and therefore no squeaking. A second cause of squeaking is salts (especially road salt) dissolved in water. (rain/snow/ice) The percipitation falls/splashes on the endlinks and when it evaporates leaves behind the salt. This means again the ball is not rolling on its lining. This is a much simpler issue to fix, just spray down the link with some clean water and it should wash away the salt. If this doesn't fully remove the salt, remove the link, and clean the ball with a rag.

As a side note, these can be made for about $35 for two links in mild steel. (I know, I've built them) Stainless costs a crap load more, as does alluminum(sp. real bad).

****UPDATE****

me:
"I posted a thread on MX-3.com trying to round up 15 people....Hopefully we can make this happen."

him:
"After playing with some numbers, I've concluded that if you can get 5 sets, I can price them at 50USD shipped for one or 96 shipped for front + rear. Its unfortunatly a bit more then my other links, but this is because I can't get my full bulk discount on such a small order. Turn around time *should* be about a week from payment, however I am at the whim of my suppliers. Last time I got my shippment 3 weeks after I ordered it, while the time before that I got my order the next day. Let me know whats up"

So I am going to tell him I have 5 people.

OK, providing Jeff gives us the ok.

$98US will cover all four links shipped

He will need 50% down.

And here is his reply to some of yours:

"You can make these yourself, however It is impossible (asfaik) to make these own at a cost cheaper then mine. I glanced at the mx-3 site, and people said they were making them for 100cad. My links work out to be about 119cad. And your getting all stainless hardware. Its the stainless hardware that forces me to drive up my price. Also some bad news, price shipped on 2 sets would have to be $98Usd. From here, you would need to get at least a %50 deposit on the links. Once I recieve that I can order all the neccaassary parts and the links should ship in about 10 days, but as mentioned that depends solely on how fast my supplier deleivers. As for adjusting I can get them close, then you guys can compare them to the stock links and finalize the adjustments once you have them."

So its up to you, you can take a stab at fabing up your own or jump on this deal. I dont have the time to run around right now. And plus by the time you run around here and there you would prob burn up the extra $20 your spending anyway.

Again if anyone has one lying around, could you measure it and let me know. IIRC, i got roughly 2" for the front and 3 1/8" on the rear (Center of bolt to center of bolt).
