MazdaSpeed Protege tranny

Post by Georonimo »

Just picked up a wrecked 03 MazdaSpeed. I'm wondering if the tranny internals are an upgrade to the guts in my K08 trans. Any idea? will it all even fit?

Thanks

I know the diff fits with little to no mods except for the speedo, but I'm not sure about the gear clusters, forks, etc etc.

If you read closely, they bring up the MSP transmission.

everything should swap. If you have to, use your old shift forks, but the gearsets should interchange, as well as the differential.

but you need to figure out a way to press a speedo ring onto the MSP one b/c it doens't use speedo rings from the factory, it measures its speed via the ABS system.
